Hey guys. I havent used this account for a while. I’ve decided to start an art only tumblr and i would love to see you guys over there. I’ll try to maintain this eventually as my inspiration only tumblr, but for my arts head over to Niami.tumblr.com
Good evening. I’m adopting an art only tumblr. I do have a reblogging pervatron blog over yonder and i would like to keep these separate. Seeing as LJ is dead i need an alternative that still keeps me connected to my fellow artists.
Anyway enough faffing, heres an illustration. I’ve revived a previous set of characters, once thought to be dead.
Hello new followers! Since my last login I’ve had a sudden increase, pushing the number to 111. I like that number. Thank you for following and I hope to post some awesome things to keep your attention.
With that in mind, here is one of my favourite GBX generation artist and in fact, one of my favourite artists active on the web. Michael Deforge. It’s a dream of mine to one day wear his art on my SKIN, I had a hard time finding the right image because every one of his images are grotesquely awesome. When he’s not producing complex gig posters or pulsating illustrations, he’s making some of the best indie comics out there. Deforgeo has just released Lose #2, i have the first and it really sets the bar high for self published released. Buy his comics here(NOW). He can be found at his website and the usual places, Flickr and livejournal.
The internet is very familar with Andy Gilmore. His recent exploration of patterns and colour studies has been getting alot of coverage on the design blogs. Whilst those are beautiful, the Andy Gilmore I was introduced to a few years ago created haunting portraits. He uses what i believe to be some form of colour pencils, to create dark renderings which are part medical diagram, often peering into multiple dimensions of his subjects. He can be found at his website and flickr.
When i began this tumblr my intention was to create a blog for inspiring imagery, especially for fellow illustrators. Instead i have used it purely to reblog hot ass. I shall be rectifying this now.
For the first of many, i will reboot with a friend, Mickey AKA Michaela Collette Zacchilli. My first run in with her was on gingerbox back in 2004, a now post apocalyptic art forum run by Corey ‘REY’ Lewis. I instantly loved her fantastic lines and loose forms.
Now shes a master of the printmaking, her work is choatic, rampant with sexuality, demonic iconography and filled with frantic details. I highly recommend picking up one of many zines or comics she produces. Bullshit Frank and Gorilla Joe or RAV should suffice. They can be bought at her website. She also has a Flickr. Just make sure to avoid her Toilet blog. Seriously.
